Auto unlock

Does anyone know if the auto unlock feature is configurable? I want it to unlock all four doors when I put it in park not just the drivers door.

Thanks in advance

I think

on any Ford, all you need to do is just pull the interior door handle, that door will open. You don't need to unlock them to be able to open the doors from the inside, at any time.

The power locks are controlled through the Body Control Module (BCM), which is located on the back wall of the cab, behind the left rear pax seat. There are 2 plugs coming out of the BCM, one Blue and one Green. On the Blue one look for a Pink w/ Orange stripe wire coming off pin 3...that is the Pax Door(s) Unlock. Then look for a Red w/ Orange stripe wire off pin 5...that is the Driver's Door Unlock.

If you cut the Pink wire at least 2" from the plug (so you have something left to splice to if you want to restore to original), and splice it to the Red wire, then all doors will Unlock when the Driver's door unlocks. THIS DOES NOT AFFECT THE AUTO LOCKING FEATURE...just lets all doors unlock at the same time.

The biggest difficulty in making this mod is removing the seat back. The BCM is in the same location in all cabs...Rcab, Scab, and SCrew.

That's incorrect. Both my Fords, (05 F150 and 07 Escape), the back doors will not open until the unlock button is pressed.

This should be a sticky, its been disussed several times. I just ended up activating my aftermarket alarm system to unlock the doors when the truck was shut off.

Same here! As soon as my truck is turned off, all 4 doors unlock automatically. I love this feature as I would always forget to hit the unlock button and leave my son in the truck!

VERY ODD.

When I turn off my 2006 Lariat Screw, the ONLY door which UNLOCKs is the DRIVERs door. I always have to hit the unlock button when I park it so I can get into the truck from the other doors without reaching for the keyfob.

Just while on the subject: the 2007/2008 VSM/BCM is a little different and has an extra function that is called "Stepped Unlock"

The RKE transmitter feature provides lock/unlock functions independently of key position, vehicle speed, or transmission position. The RKE transmitter feature provides a 2-step process, if enabled, for unlocking the doors. Upon receipt of the first requests for unlocking the doors, the remote control feature requests the VSM to unlock the driver door only. If another unlock request is received within 3 seconds of the first, the RKE transmitter feature requests that all doors be unlocked. This feature can be disabled so that all the doors unlock on the first press of the UNLOCK button.
With the ignition switch in the OFF position, press the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter simultaneously for 4 seconds.
The parking lamps will flash twice to indicate the mode change.
Repeat STEP 1 to enable/disable the stepped unlocking feature.

Does this mean that all four doors will unlock if I press my remote unlock ONE time? By this description, it seem so.

Don't be confused. What I was trying to say is, all Ford trucks do the same thing like yours. Mine did to! I hated it. When I got my Viper alarm system, I had it configured that the second you turn off the truck, all 4 doors unlock and the interior cabin light comes on. I like this new feature. I never have to hit the unlock button to unlock all the doors now.

thanks for the info....the holding button together for 4 secs until the parking lamp flash makes them all unlock at the same time with one press of the unlock button

Thanks for all the information, but I don't think the question has been answered. What bugs me is getting to work getting out of the cab and going the back door to get my backpack out and having to either press the unlock button twice on the fob or open the drivers door and press unlock there. This is not a big deal I understand but an annoyance that I hoped was configurable without cutting wires.

Thanks again
