I beat this one to death myself. I have a hi-lift with the wheel adapters and wide base plate. But that's such a PITA. Then I got this email ad talking about exhaust jack bags.

After some online research I settled on a Titan air bag which is rated at 4T. Infaltes off your trucks exhaust which is damn handy. Works in nearly all conditions. mud, ruts, pavement, slush, so on and on.

I know I found it cheaper but I don't recall where. Here's a link to a online store though: (not my truck)

thats what I was looking for, and it takes very little storage room. Ill have to get me one of those, and a 35 for my stock spare and put it in the stock place.

I just have a piece of 4x4 wood block ziptied to the spare wheel under the bed. If I need to use the spare, I have the block to set the factory jack on to raise the truck. Simple, easy, and it does not involve carrying a bunch of extra stuff in the bed.

Brilliant!

I've been thinking about what to do when I get my 35's put on. I suppose I could stick a 35" on the stock 18" spare rim?

extreme, I went through the same deal and ended up buying a 315/70R17 which just barely fits in the stock location on my '07 (check my gallery for pics). Put it on a cheap 17X8 wheel. I tried the stock scissors jack with a 6x6 block of wood and the jack got so twisted before even getting the tire off the ground I got pissed and went and bought a 6 ton bottle jack (almost a small as the stock crap). That and the wood block will fit under the rear seat if you want. Not sure if it's the greatest set up but it works well and nothings in the way.

I live in Northern VA too. I thought it was 50 bucks for them to just answer the phone and tell you he will be there sometime between the time you called and 12 hours later. (Depending on traffic or course)

As long as you don't have an aftermarket exhaust that mounts closer to the spare tire...then you risk starting a fire. There was somebody on this forum who had his spare tire catch on fire a while back. It sucks when that happens!
