2. I tow a 18' trailer occasioanly will this affect my towing? engine temp?

Underdrive pulleys slows everything down including your cooling. I tow a camper and people told me not recommended. I could possibly overheat my truck while towing.

Considering (last time i checked) the HD pulley was -25% and the WP pulley was +26%. Giving you 1% more cooling.

do the gains justify the price? i thought the general consensus was that bolt on's don't do enough to warrant them unless you're a freak looking for the last extra HP.

UD pullies will help make you quicker right off the line, and you wont get that horrid high pitched squeal on high RPM downshifts. im thinking about getting a set.

I've been thinking about getting them too. I want to see my truck hit 15's and I think that will net the trick.

Also, if I'm not mistaken Troyer's page says they can help with towing so I'm sure he wouldn't sell them if they caused overheating.

Talking

according to the website it is underdriving the water pump and the carnk. wouldnt you have to put a smaller water pump pulley to speed it up?

I been doing a search on this. If I'm reading everything right. The crank pulley is smaller give you more torque and enlarge the water pump pulley for cooling. They are saying sometimes you have to increase idle speed. Also I read if you underdrive the water pump, it will slow the clutch fan which would cause overheating. Any opinions?

More stress on the power steering. Instead of adding idle speed the best way to do it is increase #/min flow in the tune via the pressure transducer on the power steering. But i really don't know of anyone that actually does that, except me.
