ThumperEXC, I looked at those pictures and was like "That looks like Crested Butte!" Sure enough I check your location! I love that town. If only I could convince my wife to move there and then if we could find decent work. My wife's uncle lives there, works at "Talk of the Town."

Gixxerjasen, what a small world, I've spent a fair amount of my paychecks between that joint and The Eldo. My wife actually likes it here, except for when it gets into the -30's, and the town is growing so work is usually easy to find. And the snow .... what more can I say, a skier and snowmobiler paradise.

The tracker is actually my brother-in-law's who works at the same business I do. Lets just say it doesn't do to good in the deep snow, but it's so lite that it's a piece of cake to push or pull out, and it does some kick *** doughnuts .

I sure do miss living somewhere that it snows, like, maybe on Christmas, and a nice snowfall surrounding a warm spring during deer season makes the bucks stupid enough to come out in the clear during the day just to thaw out...

I don't miss driving on icy roads though.

JBMX928, it's a great little town. The downtown buildings are kept quaint due to local ordinances and you won't find a fast food joint in the place. However if you get a hankering for a cheap burger, Gunnison is a short hop away. I love that place, the scenery, the buildings, the people there. All great. My wife only doesn't want to live there because it's too far from the rest of her family. I wasted my one relocation ticket with her on Cleveland.

Nico, I'm with you, I may be a southerner in Cleveland, but I have no problem with the cold or the snow, it's this dang wind that's kicking my butt. I walked to the bus stop this morning and my eyes were stinging from the 35mph wind driving snow into my eyeballs. I nearly walked all the way there with my eyes shut. Plus it makes it feel soooo much colder than it really is. And we won't even talk about the wind downtown.

Guess I should contribute to the thread. My wife was out playing with the Color Accent mode on our new camera today and snapped this.

Tourist have to be a problem, even though they take my parking space, that's what basically makes the town able to exist. Tourism, second home owners, skiers, and outdoor enthusiasts are the bread and butter of the Butte. There are a ton of area's that are open space, no building what so ever, and other things that keep it very uncommercialized and a great place to live. The population has grown over the past few years, but I'd say it's still below 2,500. A lot of people live in Gunnison and make the 25 minute drive every day to work in Crested Butte or Mount Crested Butte. I love it here, some of the best off roading in the state with out a doubt. Makes you buy all sorts of toys when you move here though . If you or gixxerjasen ever want to come and live in the thin air, I'll design you a nice and warm house. http://www.sunlitarchitecture.net/

That's for the poor folk . We do the high end residential and commercial stuff up on the ski in/ski out lots and the big acre stuff up in the mountains. Most of our houses average around 8,000 S.F. and go for around $5,000,000 on average give or take.

Another 12 inches is called for tonight. That brings us to 3 1/2 feet.
