the Toyo M/T's are the tire of choice for everybody back in the Seattle area if their rig is street/play. the serious 4x4 guys prefer boggers though.

Most people like the Toyo M/T because they usually get 40k miles with regular rotations and their road manners are comparable to a good name brand A/T...and they're fairly quiet.

another excellent tire to look into if you've got 17" rims is the Bridgestone Destination M/T. unfortunately they don't make it for an 18" rim. I had over 20k miles on them and more than 1/2 the tread was left


EDIT: oh yeah, I forgot you were asking how the A/T's worked. My Wrangler AT/S are great tires. 18k miles and they look almost new. Nice street manners (42 psi front, 44 psi rear) and I've always had plenty of traction in rock/dirt mixes. they do leave something to be desired in the mud though
