Question Let the mod's begin!

I finally got my Silverado settlement check today!!!!!

I have next week off, so I will installing the grills I just got today - the upper and lower grills - black powder coated billet. (My truck will have only black and red on it when I am finished with it) The upper mounts right over the FX4 grill and the lower fills that "hole" in the bumper that is driving me insane!

Here is the million dollar question - I am taking it to 4 Wheel Performance Saturday to look for some black wheels (almost like "bud8817's) and tires (Pro-comp's). I already talked to them and they will be moving those lovely tire pressure sensors to the new wheels and I will be selling the FX4 rims. From what I have read here, with a 2 1/2" leveling kit, I can go as big as 31's for the tires. I do not want to modify anything for rubbing, so will those fit ok?

I will be posting before and after pictures when it is done. They are going to have to order the wheels and tires.

Thanks, in advance, guys!

Nice looking truck, congrats.

With a 2.5 inch leveling kit you can actually fit up to a 35 inch tire depending on the wheel you use, or more comonly used is a 33 inch tire.

The stock tires actually work out to be 31-32 inches tall...

The tires you have now are 275/65-18 which are a 32" tire. With a leveling kit, you can go as big as a 35" tire, depending on the backspacing of the wheel you choose.

here's a suggestion, try having the stock wheels powdercoated black and put bigger tires on your stock wheels. A 35/12.50-18 will fit the factory 18" wheels.

Here is a pic of the 18" fx4 wheels powdercoated in black

Or if you don't like the style of the 18's, try the OEM 20's in black

These wheels are 20 x 8.5 and a 12.50 wide tire is a better fit on them.

Thanks!

The people I talked to there thought I had only 30's on it now, but have not seen it yet. I wasn't sure what it worked out to be.......

So, 33's it seems like what I will be going with. I just have to find the "right" black wheels that will look good on it. Decisions....decisions......

Yes go with 33's on aftermarket rims with a leveling kit. Black will look good with your red truck.

Once you start modding you can't stop!!

BTW, take a look at the pics in my gallery to give you alittle idea what a 2.5" leveling kit and 325/60/18 (33X13X18) on 18X9 wheels (with 5.5" of backspacing) will look like. What I am running, the tire size-wheel size-leveling kit, is a very common setup on here.

Damn Nice truck! Thanks, that is what I will do - 2 1/2" leveling kit with 33's. Your's looks good!

--Fifty150 <--- you crack me up! But I knew I would get great advise from y'all! :P

TonkaTruck33 - I looked at those, but I cannot find ones that are all black. I want no chrome, no aluminum, just black.
