Got Roush bug - Stupid Question
Well, I made a 300 mile round trip over Thanksgiving weekend and managed a whopping 14.6 MPG (add sarcasm). I cruised at 70 mph pretty much the whole trip with one small trip around town when I got there. According to my math, my tires throw off my mileage by 10% so I actually got about 16 MPG. I know this is not great but I'll take it. Still curious to see what I get around town driving to work and back all week. I'm hoping for mid 13 to 14 MPG.
I still haven't had a chance to get under the truck and check the clamps and see if there is anything I can do to get my exhaust aligned perfectly. So far everybody I've asked to look at it doesn't notice anything until I point out what I'm talking about. So I'll probably just leave it alone for now.
Still happy with the Off-Road though. I just hope my mileage comes back to wat it was.

Outside it sounded great. But the drone inside the cab on the highway just drove me nuts. I ended up hating them.
Now I want to do something for my 07 and I am being much more thoughtful.

I've had my Roush Off-Road exhaust on for about a year now and am very happy with it. It's a bit loud on cold starts as mentioned....there's no leaving in the mornings without the nieghbors knowing lol. My only problem has been with the clamps coming loose after awhile. This causes the last section of pipe to swivel and the tips will end up touching the bumper. I have to admit though, that when the exhaust leaks out of that joint, it has a much deeper, better sound.
I'm going to end up taking it somewhere and just have a few tack welds put onto each seems to hold them in place, but have it so if I ever want to remove this exhaust the welds can be easily ground off. I guess I do have one other complaint which is these tips are a pain to keep looking decent...road salt does a number on them and mine exit straight out the back.

Well, I thought I'd drop in for a "long term" update on my Roush Off Road exhaust. I've had it on for about 3 months and I still really like it. It seems like it has broken in like you guys said and it has a really nice throaty sound to it. It is fairly loud in the cab when accellerating but harldy noticeable when cruising steady.
My mileage did seem to drop about 1MPG after the install off the exhaust and the cold ait intake. I seem to be averaging about 13.5MPG with mostly city driving. I'm guessing that this could be due to a variety of things. For one I put this stuff on right as winter was setting in. So I've been running the heater and my heated seats all the time. Also, I wonder if I'm using more gas to compensate for the intake. Does the computer add more fuel to keep the mixture correct when getting more air flow? Anyway, 13.5 city sounds pretty average based on all the other comments on this forum so I'll take it.
I know tihs is kind of a lame update but I just wanted to let everybody know that my Roush products are holding up fine, and I'm enjoying the sounds of my truck. Later...
