I raced a buddy with a tundra crew max at the track he ran 14.9 to my 14.1 so they run very well, the traction control helps them big time.

See I have heard that they make a big difference and also heard that you wont notice it. I wish I could find a used one in the N Texas area but I havn't found anybody on here that has one for sale close.

FX4MUD "Id guesstimate the guy didnt have his traction control etc. turned off as even the crewmax's are putting down sub 15 1/4s."

Alright so should they have traction control on or off? It makes more since to me for them to have it on.

I don't know for sure that it does anything, but it seems like my truck runs better through the gears with it turned off and there is no way I am going to race to OD so it doesn't hurt anything.

Turning OD off is great for towing applications, going up steep hills, etc. It'll keep the ponies higher in your powerband and eliminate the need for constant shifting from the tranny (or premature shifting). I believe it kicks in around 40-45 mph?

If you are planning on racing someone and want optimum power I'd say turning off OD would be a smart choice. Try it sometime when you are getting onto the highway or something.

When racing(full throttle) OD will not come into play until the truck runs out of gears. Anytime acceleration is required the transmission will downshift to get the motor back in the powerband. I agree with you about towing and steep hills, but my comment was specifically directed towards OD in racing situations.

The same guy did test runs with TC on/off and with VSC completely disabled. He got the best results w/ it completely off.

Heres a vid of him running a 13.97 with exhaust/cai. Yall should enjoy it as he gets smoked in the initial run by a sweet L. His best run to date is 13.94.
