aftermarket moonroof
well i couldnt find a supercrew with a moonroof when i bought my screw in august so i'm thinking on getting one put in before it snows. i was wondering if anyone has any problems with there aftermarket roof? i am thinking on going with a Hollandia model, i was told this is the same one the ford uses, is this true? i want a spoiler model then comes out and tilts up/back. any input/advice on this would be appreciated.

I had mine in from the factory, but my dad had his dealer installed. Everyone told him not to, but the dealer swore up and down that it was ok. It most definitely is not ok. He keeps paper towels in the open spaces to soak up water. The console is gone. Cut off right after the lights if I remember. They put a cap on it.

The fact is that factory roofs are designed to leak. The whole assembly sits in a tray that bolts to the ceiling and have drain tubes that route down the pillars to the ground. Aftermarket roofs don't employ the same setup and are going to be more prone to leaking because most of them are designed to be leakproof from the top of the roof.
