I have recently had a problem wit my 05 F-150 Lariat it has a 2.5as kit and 35" tires with 20s. The problem is when i drive down the road i can hear a tapping noise or some kind of flapping noise from near the tires and wheels and it taps louder the faster i go . I dont know what it is. It doesnt seem like its from the tires or wheels. Whatt could this be

 

I can't locate the phantom flapping tapping noise from the back area of my truck either. I'm hoping my Roush exhaust I'm puting on this week helps cure it.

 

Ummm, not trying to be a smarta$$ but have you checked for any small rocks stuck in your tires?

 

what would the small rocks do how do they cause a tapping noise

 

Tires go round and the rocks in the treads taptaptaptaptap until they eventually fling out.

 

ill check it out been doing it for almost 2 weeks
