I bought the whole kit, it also included the ac line disconnects too. I think it was 10 or 15$.

Any suggestion as to what to try, other than the plastic tool? I would hate to take it to the dealer.

That may be my next purchase. What I have is the soft metal with a different size on each end.

Well - patience - I had a similar issue - just took my time, wiggled the conector back & forth, pushed them towards the filter to relieve some of the tension - eventually it came off.

Oh yeah... I was using my set of plastic disconnect tools

Damn, I hate to give in and buy the plastic! I stayed pretty patient, had the truck jacked up so I could get to it easily. Tried to release it while it was in the clamp and the while the filter was free out of the clamp, at a different angle. I'm pretty well convinced that it will not come off using the metal tool I have. Thanks for the comments.

I was skeptical about the plastic removal tools as well, but they worked. I think I used the 5/16 and 3/8 ones in the set. There were many and they were various sizes. I picked them up at oreilly auto. Here's the ones I used in this pic.

Me too. The metal scissors worked OK on the inlet gas line. But I could not get the scissors in the outlet gas line. I have a regular kit for changing fuel filters so I tried my plastic release tool and it slipped right in and the outlet gas line released easily.

Even I wouldn't stoop that low

So - BJ, just how much of a career are you gonna make of this filter?

Bought the plastic tool today, now just got to get up the gumption to jack the truck back up and see if it works. May be a week or two.

No, too many other things going on. Probably be Saturday before I get to it. I sure hope that piece of plastic does the trick!
