F250 back to an F150

Thinkin about tradin in my 05 Powerstroke Lariat FX4 for an 04+ F150 SCrew 4x4... Seen a few KRs and Lariats I like... Definately want the 5.4... Any reason to stay away from 04's? I am lookin at used. What is my best bet as far as year models? I am looking for trucks with less than 50K...

Thanks!!

Why the downgrade? I wish I could have afforded a powerstroke when I bought.

I have an 04 88k miles Ive put 22k in the last 1.5yrs and have only put new brakes on since they were original, fixed the brake light leak, and put a new fuel filter on. Thats it and no real issues*knock on wood.

Between the payment and the diesel costs, it's startin to not be worth it. The most work I use it for it to pull a 20' Skeeter Bass Boat. At 5.4 will do that. Also, I am about to start driving a ton more for work and swapping alot with the wife and driving her car. She LOVES my F250 but hates to drive it through all the city construction and parking garages at her work...

04 Screw XLT w/ leather, 4x4 and 5.4L with 36K on it for 23,000... Seems reasonable depending on trade.

if you do get an F150, makes sure to invest in custom tuning. the F150 is a slug compared to the PSD, and tuning will help give it more giddy-up.

i have a 2004 Lariat 4x4, only problem up until this summer was the heater dash went out once (under warranty). but this summer my tranny decided to blow. thats the only real issue ive had, and my truck does a lot of hauling climbing and some offroading during hunting season.

How many miles on your diesel? Been thinking about one to replace for my 05 F150 4x4 screw. Just turned 30K miles on mine.

The 05 is a good truck. No problems. Friends with the 04 have had zero issues as well.

Seems a little steep to me. I paid 24,000 for my brand new '05 back on 12/31/05. It's a Screw XLT 4x4, 5.4L, 3.73 and all the basic goodies. This is not the norm, but it is a comparison. I just don't have the leather, which is not standard on an XLT, but can be added for 1k or so.

If you are looking to spend that much, try to find a new '07 on the lot. You can probably make a good deal on it.

I don't know man....I mean I love my F-150 but to me you're going backwards. The F-250 is certainly more of a truck and I would think a diesel is more fuel efficient so while gas might be a bit more you have to be breaking about even.

What does the powerstroke get on the highway?

you should add a tuner to your diesel, my pops put a diablo sport tuner in his 06 KR, 4 door long bed and is getting 21-22 mpg

The savings in Diesel cost (price per gallon) will be negative by the time you buy extra gas for the F150...because it WILL get worse MPG.

Stick with the F250...the F150 is just a tincker toy compared to it!

But if your serious about trading my dad has a white and tan 2005 4x4 Lariat with 30K miles on it and I am sure he would trade with you. If your interested lets talk.
