Unhappy I broke my mirror!

Doh! Backing into my driveway, this time I really did it. I smacked my passenger side mirror right into the rhododendron bush near the driveway. I hit it hard enough to break the bezel and pop the cover off busting the standoffs that the screws feed into. So basically... my mirror is toast and I'm holding it together with a bungee cord.

The dealer wants $228 for the entire mirror assembly (this is the deluxe heated mirror with turn signals).

BTW, this wasn't the first time I hit my mirror... normally it would swivel backwards, but this time, I was not so lucky. I'd torch the rhody, but it's a very rare specimen...

Any ideas where I could find one cheaper besides used off ebay??

That is to much, I paid $98 dollars for one at Galpin Ford. I've had to buy two already. Try ebay I've seen two for about $100 bucks.

Thanks, I'll check that out. Meanwhile, I think a come-a-long (?) on that rhody will pull it back away from my driveway. Grr!

try www.fordparts.com

You can just email them and tell them what you're looking for and they'll email you back a price quote. Should be around $90 I think.

thank you. I plugged in the p/n the dealer gave me today. It came up 152.83. Much better, but spendy enough that I'll be more careful next time I pull into the driveway. I think I'll email them, too.

I broke a mirror on my Escape when I was ticked off when it didn't start one morning... so I got ticked off and WHACK with my fist, right at the passenger mirror. I didn't tear it off, but I shattered the glass, and popped the mirror piece up off the arm that is mounted to the vehicle.

Cost me $45 off of ebay and about 20 minutes to install, and mind you, these were powered mirrors.

But it was well worth the abuse to it... I was about ready to torch that freakin' thing. I hated that SUV soooo much.

I have a white painted passenger side mirror with heat & lights, but like I said its painted white. I broke my DS mirror a few months back and rather then pay to have it repainted also I just bought both sides new.

PM with an offer its just in the garage boxed up waiting for someone like you

Hey, if it's not too late - I've got a power passanger-side mirror off my 04 XLT missing the glass & turn signal assbly. A few scratches but in good operating shape. It's yours if you'll pay the shipping from Seattle area.

Must've been this one....

BTW... did you use a spell checker? Cause I just realized that name has 3 d's, 3 o's, 2 n's, 2 r's, and when spelled backwards it says nordnedodohr.

Yeah, it's got a big ugly branch sticking out. The whole plant/tree, whatever it is, is leaning INTO the driveway because the holly tree next to it encroached on its space. So I think I can pull it back where it belongs. It's a pretty special rhody, so I don't want to cut it down.
