grr...Amp wiring problem

Hey guys..well i've had an issue with my amp again and cant figure it out. I have a 5 channel amp that keeps shutting off on me. I'll be listening to music and then all of a sudden it shuts off...sometimes it goes off for 30seconds or 20mins. At first i thought it was automatic shut off due to heat. Doesnt seem to be the case but it seems to happen when its hot out? Sometimes when i start the truck it doesnt work? help? thanks

maybe your remote turn on wire isnt connected properly. id make sure that it is soldered to the correct wire completely.

also what size positive cable are you running to the amp? you have to make sure its large enough. probably the same thing that warbat66 said.

I had a similar problem a lil while back, where is your amp mounted? I had mine mounted under the passenger seat and it kept blowing fuses and finally i realized that my hot wire was touching the metal frame of the seat and blowing the fuse also a bad ground is another thing to check for....i felt like an idiot when i realized what my problem was but i guess you live and learn lol.

Make sure your ground is good and you removed all the paint around where it is grounded.

Your amp seems to be going into "shutdown" or "protection" mode.

It's a matter of finding a multimeter, some trouble shooting and time.

Here's some possibilities off the top of my head -

Insufficient power or earth supply.
Speaker impedence issue.
Speaker shorting out.
Insufficient signal voltage in.
Poor or "shorting out" input cable.
Amp "clipping" and reaching it's output limit.
..... Faulty amplifier.

Good luck.
