Half shaft Issues?

I have a 2005 F150 4x4. I had a rancho suspension done 6 months ago but rode on AS spacer for about a year before the lift kit. Recently I had a alignment done and the sway-bar was removed to put the factory bolts on the "cradle". Ever since, I hear a poping/binding sound coming from the RT front of my truck. almost like a shifting. My wife backed the truck up while I was looking at it and the lower control arm shifted. They were tightened and yet there is still a pop when turning or when backing up. It seems similar to when front wheel drive cars start having problems with the CV joints. Anyone have any feedback?? I have 39000 miles on the truck. :o Thanks

Are you confident you are naming the parts correct? I can see the half shafts shifting because the front diff will move/shift but not the LCA. Sounds like you may have a problem with your hubs not unlocking, possible hub damage.

Your CV shafts shouldn't be turning in 2wd... The swaybar is back on correct? Just a thought, take the swaybar off, drive it, and see if that stops the poping, if not you'll know it's coming from the lower control arm, maybe. That's if you are sure the CV shafts aren't turning in 2wd. If they are then you know you have a hub issue.

Also, I would check all the bolts, nuts, etc... Could be you coil moving or something like that.

Took it to a local shop. They said all the lower control arm bolts were loose causing it to shift back and forth when turning or going in reverse. They were not re-tightened after the alignment I had done at Les Schwab. SO far I have not heard the sound again but my alignment is out-of-whack with 2" of toe-in on the right. The shop here can't do the alignment since it is a small town and don't have the computer set-up for the 2004+ model year. So I have to drive 180 miles to civilization to get it re-aligned. Thanks for the replies. If I continue to have issues I will definitely look at your suggestions regardless.

You took your truck to Les Schwab?!

I haven't heard that name since I left Oregon... I thought they were gone...

Yeah, take it back in and get it lined up right, and if you like your tires, and the rest of your suspension, do NOT hesitate to do so...

I got an appointment this Friday for a re-alignment. Hope I don't wear out my Toyo MT on the way up there. They are not cheap to replace.
