Question What to do next?

Hello all,
I had a question that maybe a few of you can help me with. I have already installed a flowmaster exhaust, AS 2.5 leveling kit, Rims and Tires, Sound system and security system. My question is this, what to do next? I have been looking at the AFI intake and the Edge chip. Since I am a graduate student and work for the university I don't have a lot of money so I have to take one Mod at a time, thus my dilemma. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. I just got a camera so I will post some pics when I get a chance to wash and wax the truck.
Thanks

im in the same boat, in college and not a ton of cash.

with that being said, i would go with custom tuning instead of the edge. i had the edge originally and it added power, and was pretty sweet. however my truck just didnt feel right, especially the transmission, plus i added a CAI and was running lean.

now i have a Xcal2 and am waiting for troyer tunes.

Did your edge tell you or did you check engine light come on?

I agree do it right the first time. You dont want to get a canned tune and mods just to find out that you are running lean and need to sell the programer that you just bought to get a custom tune for the same price as the orginal programer. If you stay stock the Edge is a great canned tune.

I have had the Edge programmer for over a year. I had only one issue when my battery died it was giving me a code. It no longer has been giving me any problems. The reasons I like the Edge programmer are

1: Flexible - you can change parameters yourself if you like(tire diameters, gear ratios and such)

2: upgradeable- you can get downloads as new adjustments are released(if you need them)

3:monitoring- you have temperature readouts, mpg, and many other features.

4: re-sale: when you trade your truck you can sell it and get some money back in your pocket. It might even pay for itself.

Now I agree that a custom tune would be IDEAL and provide the most gains BUT; We are constantly changing things on our trucks. Wheels, Tires, gears, lifts, Exhaust. With a custom tune I believe you will have to re-calibrate every time there is a change for an added modification to make the most of the tune. Being that you are short on cash. I believe your best bet would be a canned tune to start off to see some gains. Then, once you have ALL the mods you want(perhaps a few years down the road, if you still own your truck) get a custom tune. Just MHO. either way it's your call.
