Checked out a Limited!!!

Local dealer here has two already!! Got to check it out pretty good and I'll have to say I'm impressed. Not here to flame at all, but I've never been a post '03 fan much, but this truck is pretty sharp. Nicely done. Very very very classy and expensive looking. Interior looks much nicer with the darker colored centers on everything. There's also a numbered plaque on the ashtray. XXXX of 5,000. All the painted parts and ESPECIALLY the dark headlights really set the truck off.

This truck is also AWD. I don't know much about that. The selector *** on the dash has two positions...AWD and 4Hi. So how does that work???

So, my observations and questions...

Truck still has the same axle up front as a 4X4 truck and control arms/coil over all look exactly the same. No skid plate. 3.73 gears though.

Rear leaf springs/block look the same as any other 4WD. But, one thing I did notice was the front end looks like it sits even more nose lower than a 4WD. The rear is the same heigth seemed like. Don't know if it was the angle the truck was parked on the pedistal, but it sure seemed lower.

22" wheels are cool and judging by the tire size and how they fit, I'd say they're 9" wide also.

I forgot to raise the hood and check but I heard rumors of electric fans. Going back to look at it again on Sunday...I'll check.

Could live withouth the L-I-M-I-T-E-D letters on the bed, but that's just me.

I would guess the fact that it's AWD wouldn't prevent a lift kit/leveling kit/adjustable coil over since the front end looks the same, but I don't know for sure on that one?

I don't know if you guys have seen one or not, but let me know if you have questions about it.

I'm sure it's like all the SUV's. if in AWD it runs in 2wd and automaticly kicks in 4hi when it feels a slippage. 4hi puts it in 4x4 and leaves it. Downside is there is no 4Lo at all on those vehicles. The primary reason I didn't get a lincoln.

Since it has AWD it sounds like it was based on the Harley Davidson F150. Maybe the Limited is a more feminine version of the HD F150.

Here are some good pics, and you can clearly see the AWD option on the switch as well:

wow!! Nice, but I agree with Galaxy the LIMITED on the side of the bed looks horrible. Really takes away from the clean lines of the truck

We've already had seven roll through our place since the beginning of September. Mix of 4x2 and AWD.

They have black ones.... they're called Harleys

I traded in my 06 King Ranch for one this week. AWD and 22"s. It is nothing more than a White Sand Harley. That said I think it's a nice lookin truck for sure. Not for the off road type but a nice driver for the every day trip to work. Plus unlike the Harley, you can get an X-plan price plus rebates. Mine was 43K sticker, 35K with X-plan and rebates.
