Dog Box?

Does anyone know where I can get an aluminum dog box for the 5.5ft bed. I also have a toolbox, so I only have about 42" depth. I haven't seen any. I will buy used also! Thanks in advance.

Man, it disgusts me how some people can be such city slickers. The only ones i have ever seen where custom made. You could probably fit one made for a small truck but it wouldnt hold many dogs. That is one of the main reasons i went with a supercab with a 6.5ft bed.

Haha, city slickers....a dog box is for when you're hunting you can pick up the dogs off a track....

I don't mind just puttin them "huntin buddies" in the bed, but I like the idea of having a platform and "walking" room up top to shoot from. I am thinking I can just build one, that way it's exactly what I want. The one's that I've seen are outrageously expensive.

yeah you would save a whole lot, for a custom built aluminum one up here in VA you pay anywhere from 750-1250 depending on the style

Yeah that's what I've been looking at. I haven't priced the metal to build it yet...does anyone know where to buy metal like that from?? Is there a website, or do you think it's cheaper to just buy it locally?

I built a wooden one and linseed oil'd it. it's ugly as sin but warm, roomy, comfy, and has lasted for years and two trucks.

I want one of those aluminum ones that has the built in box on top for the dog's stuff.

Thats the reason I love my 6.5ft bed.......plenty of room for that kind of stuff. I already have a toolbox in the back of my truck, and can still put plenty of stuff back there.

Also, instead of spending hundreds of dollars on a dog box that you arent going to be happy with, just go out and get some metal, and a rivet gun, and build your own. Thats what everyone around here does. There are no two dog boxes around here that look the same.
