i dont have any pics, but a friend of mine built one out of metal studs used in business around here. for the top an d bottom, he used a pressure treated plywood painted black. looks good to me and you can make it any size you need. i think you can even get the parts at the local lowes or home depot...

 

That's along the lines of what I'm thinking, only not using wood, but a piece of diamond plate. Not 100% sure yet!
