Fusion Key Owners/Users - Changing the Battery

Stupid question but I thought I'd go fishing before I crack it open.

Any special 'tip' to opening this key up to change the battery? Mine baaaaaaaaaarely works while standing next to the truck.

Will I have to reprogram?

Thanks for any and all help!

Not sure if you meant to post this in general, but if its like the rest of the FOBs, a screwdriver usually works great. No reprogram needed.

Yup, just split it open with a small screwdriver, or a coin in the open slot near the hole for your keyring. And no, you won't have to reprogram anything.

Nah... I meant to post it here as oodles of us are using the Fusion key for our 04+ F-150s (it's an all-in-one key/remote combo).

Thanks for the help, fellers'. Much appreciated. Going to crack it open at lunch and snare a couple of batts at WallyHell on the way home.

Rockpick, just wanted to say hey. I live in Carrollton, KY. Cool to see how many people that are from KY. Also what are the instructions for programming the Fusion Key? I was looking into getting one from ebay.

Hi 2005lariatky... good to see you as well. I'm just a hop, skip, and a jump down the road from you from the looks of it.

As for the Fusion key, you program it just like it is a new key and a new keyfob. Very very simple -- all spelled out in your manual.

One of these days, we're going to pull together another KY get together... be sure to watch the REGIONAL forums for a time and place. Our last one was over in Frankfort at one of the distilleries. We followed that up with a late lunch and a few beverages. It was a smaller turn out but still, none the less, a good time.

Hope to see you at the next one...
