What would you do?

Well the parts are piling up in my garage to get my truck lifted and rolling on 37s. But, now I'm starting to wonder. Should I keep my current '04 F150, with zero problems 50k miles and almost paid off? Or, should I sell it as is and go grab a left over '07 with zero miles and throw all this stuff on it? It would be super nice to have this thing paid off and the lift paid off.... No debt all paid for. But I'm starting to wonder with the mileage if it might be a better idea to grab a new truck first. I love the truck, so I'd grab another lariat just like this one.

Just thought I'd see what yall think.... Pros/cons.

Thanks fellas.

That's a tough one.. an '04 that you love with zero problems, low miles, or roll the dice that an '07 is gonna be as problem free..

50k miles is nothing on these trucks, just getting broken in..

I guess the question is how bad is the itch to get into a new truck?.. lol

If you decide to trade it in save the lift kit for your new truck, you won't make the money back on the trade..

My opinion, I'd keep the truck you have and lift that sucker.. Again, 50k on an '04 is low mileage, keep the maintanence up and it oughta give ya another 150k at least..

Let us know how ya decide to go...

Keep what you have, as it's been tried and tested.

Keep it, that way if you might like the 09 model you can upgrade your ride.

One question you might ask. You have been buying parts for an 04, do the all fit on an 07. There have been some changes, although not major, that would require you to get different parts.

Another vote for keeping it. Not enough changes from 04 to 07 to justify a change, imo. 09, well that's maybe a different story, can you say BOSS??

I'd say keep it, cause an 07 is the same basically as a 04, wait till 09 if you like the change, however if you decide to keep the 04, you should address changing out the plugs, so they don't become too hard to remove.......

Why would you want to start the payment plan all over again? keep it and lift if and just think of it this way, if she does start giving problems now you have a paid off truck and you can spend the money to keep her runnin forever!

Keep the 04.

If you are coinsidering a new truck, you were able to budget it in right? Well, use that money for a project car to itch that male DNA known as "go fast".

Talking

Great replies! Thanks fellas. You're right, paid off is a great situation to be in. I only have a few more payments. And I'm paying for all my lift **** cash, trying to avoid credit cards (that's why it's taking so long)....

I was just wondering about depreciation of the truck with increasing mileage. After checking around though, this year truck in my area is going for about $23k with similar mileage. I also have an extended warranty until 80k miles.

I'll be hanging onto my black '04. Will be back with pics when it's done. I need to get this project done so I can start working on my mustang again!
