Quick knock/click sound at startup after Driving

I get a very quick knock/click sound for about 1 second from the upper side of the motor on the driver’s side. It’s the 5.4 L 3V. It only happens when I drive somewhere shut it off and restart within three to four minutes. First start of the day sounds great, and as long as I let it sit longer then four minutes after driving somewhere it sounds great. I only hear it if my window is down when I start. Is it normal? Or what do you think?

Mine Knocks real bad when first cranking up after an oil change. Loud Knocking. The oil place told me they have had only a very few that do this. Could be an oil issue.

Off topic, but that sure does look like a Screw in your sig. Just wondering why it says Scab.

It's probably the injectors, they're loud on these trucks. It's hard to diagnose "noise" problems over the internet but thats my guess.

What kind of oil filter are you running? Switch to a Motorcraft and I bet your problem will go away. A lot of aftermarket brand oil filters do not have the proper anti-drain back valve and will cause this exact problem.
