Skid Plates

So I've discovered that the stock skid plates are one-time-use plates... I did a minor nose dive over a berm, bottomed out the front suspension and pretty much mangled my front plate... anyone know of any plates that aren't JC Whitney quality to replace this foil with?

That "foil" is a skid plate, not a slam plate. What'd you think was gonna happen when 6Klbs comes down on it?

This is a "Ford Tough" truck, right? I wasn't exactly doing a Walker Evans impression either.

I want some serious steel under there to protect the goodies. Not some pansy tin shingle to guard against a stray pebble.

The rest of the suspension seems to handle all the weight just fine. Why shouldn't the armor?

From the looks of it, it served it's purpose and did it's job. What if you didn't have it there? You would be posting about something breaking. What did you expect to happen when you came crashing down on it? I say replace it and be happy you had one to begin with.
