Thumper, I know your running the bilstein setup and I was thinking about getting this setup instead of coliovers. Is the ride good? What kind should i get if i have the 6" procomp stage one lift and will i need a new spring or just use the stock spring? Any pictures of your setup or advice would be greatly appreciated.
How much did those run you? What about rears? And these can also be adjusted in the front or I could get the 2.5 AS. Any pics you have of the bilsteins installed would be great, if your too busy dont worry about it, just lookin for info
i also run bilsteins on my rcd lift, ride is superb, smooooth but firm, actually was a little too firm in the beginning, i can get you part numbers off the shocks if i you want, i think they would be different than shocks for a stock height truck, the front shocks for sure, the front "struts" on my lift are adjustable from 4.5" lift to 6" lift, and uses the stock coilsprings, no spacer... stock spring is pretty good, specially paired with good shock absorbers like bilstein or rancho, i dont extreme off road much so i dont think aftermarket coilovers are that great of a deal
so im thinking your procomp stage1 kit uses a coilspring spacer? and stock struts? man the difference in size of the the rancho rsx9000 struts and my current bilstein struts against the stock struts is pretty huge, the solid bar that goes from the coil spring lower seat (shock mount) to the lower control arm is litterally about 6" longer
hey check this out though, ur current springs use a spacer, so the extra distance is made between the top strut mount and bottom of the coilsprings, meaning you have a huge chunk of spring, and little solid bar part of the shocks, if you got bilstein struts, the extra height is made between the bottom of the spring and the solid tube of shock absorber to the lower control arm, are you sure you wont have rubbing issues considering the procomp kit (spindle, subframe) is designed for coilspacers?
however i cant imagine having less "spring" which takes up space would get more in the way, cause if you get the bilsteing struts, you will just have a longer bar extending from the spring to the lower control arm... bilsteins or rancho, had both, both rock, you will be happy either way, check our ranchos "quick lift" system also
