It's not really surprising that they put it in writing right in the engine bay. Diesels are very popular for heavy mods too. My uncles old '04 SD was putting out an estimated 900ft. lbs. of torque. Maybe there were guys with very modded SD's trying to have repairs done under warranty.

I bet it shows up on 08 F150s (and other 08s for that matter) as well.

Possibly. It said it in my 2000 taurus owners manual. I think it is to remind the diesel guys that cheap hp is not always cheap. I had heard that ford is going to be very tight on what they allow to be done to new diesels.

My brother in law who is a heavy duty tech (diesel) at Ford told me that the service manager was told to turn away all warranty work with any mods to the exhaust on the '08's. He even told me one genius cut off the DPF to try and straight pipe it and it wouldnt even start and they wouldnt warranty it (obviously) and he ended up paying a couple thousand for a new exhaust
Has anyone found a way around the DPF yet?

you cant get around the DPF it has sensors in it and it is needed for the motor to run right. We were sacred of them at first but knock on wood we havnt have any trouble yet, mind you this is a cat c15 not a SD

Hell I have been too busy de-modding the old truck! I was just lucky the Silverstars and turn signal lights would swap.
Besides between this now...and the Jeep and the Formula projects I have my garage, my shop and two bed rooms filled with car parts! The wifey is pretty good about that kind of stuff but when she came home today and found all the Lincoln parts in the living room she about lost it!

BTW PM back if your interested in that fan we talked about...you tried to but my box was full.

I got impatient and bought one myself but I'm not 100% sure that its going to fit.

Ford tried to make me pay 200 dollars because i went offroading(it was bone dry) and somehow the skid plates that came with the truck bent upwards and jammed rocks/dirt/grass/sticks somewhere that cause a rattling noise.

So you have no idea how the skid plate was damaged and all that stuff got packed under the truck, you weren't thrashing it at all off road right.
