mods for my 06 w/5.4

I would like to add about 50hp to my f-150 and I would like to keep the stock exhuast. I have another vehicle with the magnaflow on it and love it, but this is my daily driver, and I seemed to get pulled over alot in the jeep witht he exhaust. So here is my question, What are the biggest bang for the buck mods that will help me out? I want to use 87 octane gas and I do tow my boat with the truck.

I was thinking about, a custom tune possibly through troyer, or an edge unit, a new cold air intake, and possibly e-fans later down the road. I emailed troyer about this and haven't heard anything back. I have heard that they are hit or miss on the customer service, so I am kinda leary about getting tuned from them. I would love to find someone local to cincinnati that would do the tune for me.

Anyways thanks in advance.

Get a Gibson side swept exhaust, from what i've read they are very quiet exhaust systems.

You will feel a difference with just a intake and exhaust, adding the edge will really wake it up more and make it LOUD on 87 octane (lvl 2). I just installed my Edge last night and wow I love it when running 93!

Don't believe that "hit or miss" stuff about Troyer. Give them a call and you won't be sorry.

Check out VMPTuning.com and BamaChips/Jusnes, they are both great tuners and offer good turn around time. I've got the S&B and love it, with the Edge it had a horrible drone so don't get it if you plan on getting the Edge. I've got it along with my Xcal2 from VMP and it's a pretty good combo IMO.

To get up to 50 hp, I think you might need to add a cam swap on that list. Either that or just get blown

No - you can get there with external bolt-ons, easily.

Not cheap, though, and some folks have expressed that, having gone through all of those mods, they wished they'd just gone straight to an S/C.

'FX4 Matt' hit 280 rwhp with external bolt-ons ( up form approx 210), for example. Then went Roush

OP - if you plan on going the bolt-on route, choose custom tuning as your baseline - a canned tuner will not be able to accomodate some of those changes.
