Shocks & Add-A-Leaf Reccomendation

I have a 2004 Lariet SCrew 4x4 that is leveled with Daystar spacers. Last year I did a ProComp wheel/tire combo however the tires are a bit too wide and I get a bit of rubbing on a hard stop or sharp turn. I've done some minimal trimming but would like to get 1-2" more lift if possible to avoid this problem.

After reading the threads it seems that the Bilstein 5100 shocks will give me some lift (adjustable 0, 1" and 2") for the front. Can I use these in addition to the Daystar spacers? Also, do the rear shocks add lift?

I am also guessing an AAL (long leaf) would be a good addition to the rear - probably the Skyjacker version.

Any guidance would be appreciated. Seems that most folks here bought their shocks from Top Gun Customs.

How much lift do the daystar spacers provide?If its 3" and you want to add 2" more I would think its time for a full 6" lift kit as you may have issues with the front CV joints.

Keep the leveling kit and add body lift kit. I think the shocks are a good fix you can adjust but I would try something more solid. Even maybe time to go to a suspension lift.

No you can't use the 2" Bilsteins and the Daystar... it's one or the other. Your Daystar leveling kit is probably providing more lift than the Bilsteins would too. I wouldn't recommend it, but the only way you're going to get more lift in the front to avoid your problem would be to use a 2.5" or 3" leveling kit... or of course a 3" body lift or full suspension lift.

As for the rear... no shocks will not provide more lift. Only blocks, shackles, new leafs, or AAL's will do that.

I agree, but don't buy the 3" leveling kit cv problems down the road.

CV, ball joint, tie rod, etc.

I disagree with the CV problems. I have said this before in other threads, but CV joint (both inner and outer) angle will never see any more "angle" than normal steering of the vehicle when using a spacer. I have yet to hear of CV problems with any of these leveling kits, but I have heard of the other problems. The steering angle is a slight bit greater than 45 degrees at full turn, I think. Anyway, the joint comming out of the front diff never sees that sharp of an angle even with a leveling kit. Bump steer and excessive ball joint wear are the usual suspects. CV joints are never a problem with articulation IMO, but tearing and wearing on boots is a different problem (that does happen).
