Who makes the best 6inch lift?
Like ive said I have a skid plate on and am not taking it off just to get a picture.
Also any shock builder will tell you to run body up, bilsteins, SAW, fox all say its best to run body up but can be run either way. Yeah I know nothing about suspensions but all my buddys prerun and was able to get regular donahoes to fit my lifted truck and pull a clean 11.5 inch of travel. Yeah someone that doesnt know crap about suspension can modify a shock and make it still cycle right. Also the shock broke the lower mount off the SHOCK like ive said it was all shock broken. Old man move on the internet is to young for you, go read readers digest or something cause you know its all 20 or so punks here

Not sure what you're trying to say in the previous post but it's probably an age thing. I'm pretty ancient at 28 and all but it's nice you finally admit you know nothing about suspensions because it became more and more apparent after each post so maybe your buddies should be posting and not you because according to you they're the knowledgeable ones. All I got from you was get pro comp it's cheap. I do think it's pretty cool you got the donahoe's to work on your truck so good job on that. Remember the original poster was talking about kits and not combining a bunch of stuff to make the kit better. I'll even put one of the smilies up you like so much for you to make me feel younger after I find my reading glasses. Here ya go

If you want to save a little money and do some mixing and matching then I'd recommend the ProComp kit, Fabtech 5" rear blocks, and Bilstein 6" shocks... oh and you must hide that hideous front crossmember w/ the ProComp skid plate.
I'm 28 too, so I'll throw out a smiley as well.
hey bigfootscrew (origianl thread poster) i noticed that you said you already have a leveling kit. What kit is that??? The reason I ask is that you may want to stack kits for more height since you already have purchased that level kit, instead of letting it go to waste. Therefore, even though I LOVE MY PROCOMP STAGE ONE KIT. I think you should go w/ a shock replacement kit that like fabtech that would allow you to incorporate your leveling spacer, where the procomp kit doesnt.
Maybe you dont get sarcasm but I wasnt saying I dont know anything about suspension, I was mocking you, maybe you can understand that you know like making fun of you?
Quote: Sandog53 Hey Kansas Joe, where do you work at??
He works at a spring shop so he must be god at suspension, you know like how important the look of the front cross member is in making the lift good or not.
I only threw in the age thing because you did, age means nothing knowing your stuff or not is all that matters, and after reading your blatantly wrong post in the suspension forums about shocks I feel you don't have a leg to stand on when arguing about suspensions.

I'll admit I'm not a shock guru. My point on the shock post which I said was that all shocks can be body down, shaft up. Yes there are certain types of shocks which can go the opposite way but the safest bet is to position it the way stated above because I've seen many upside down leaky shocks. We also do quite a few lift kits and is why I replied to this post because I've done the pro comp, fabtech, rcd and bds on the 04+ F150 so I have very good knowledge of the different kits available and what the pros and cons of each one is. The majority of our business (90%) is in leaf springs and I can build anything to any specs. So if you don't want to take my shock advice fine but you'll find very little amount of people here which know more about different brands of lift kits than I do which is to my knowledge what this post is about.
IMO oppinion I dont feel the coilover upgrade is worth it for either kit. I have had everthing, stock with the spacer (pro comp stage 1 kit) bilsteins with the spacer, and fabtech coilovers and I really wasnt happy with the ride of any. I think that if you were going to spend the money on coilvers I would wait for the SAW to come to the market for lifted trucks and get them. While ive never ridden on them for the F1 the titan guys swear by them even over donahoes, and they will run the same if not cheaper then the coilover upgrade for either fabtech or procomp, but with way more time put in the valving.
I also have the Pro Comp Stage II and I love it. Up until a month ago I was a diehard fabtech guy just like everyone else. Well, you cant get the stage I fabtech because they are backordered everywhere. A couple of smaller shops have em but they are still hard to find. I bit the bullet and instead of spending 1600 bucks on my lift i dropped 2400 on the Pro Comp Coilover Stage II kit and got an 1.5" AAL on the rear as well. Honestly, I think it looks pretty sweet. The shocks are pretty badass and I swear I could fit 37"s on this with some trimming no problem. The only downside is that you can also get the 8" rize for about 200 dollars more than this kit, so if you really want 37's go that route. And all this talk about the hideous crossmember, I felt the same way after seeing the pictures. Honestly, if you have every climbed under your truck to work on it, the pro comp cross member looks just like your stock crossmember that its mounted on. Sure it doesnt look as good as a Rize or fabtech, but its really not as ugly as everyone says it is. I wish I could have gotten a fabtech, but at the same time I'm glad i got the pro comp stage II. The stage I, thats a different story..........
I appreciate it. How hard was it to install? I Hear it just bolts on (to the crossmember and ???) I'm on the fence with it because I have the WEstin bull bar which already has a skidplate. Thoughts anyone? Pictures are in my gallery I cant figure out how to get the picture in my sig...
