The highest tranny temp that I remember seeing was 186 and that was while towing around 7000lbs (S185 Bobcat on 14' trailer) up a 6% grade on a 80 deg. day. Just a few weeks ago I towed around 4000 lbs of fourwheelers up to northern wisconsin, it was around 90deg that day and through the rolling hills the temp was running 170-175 and on the flats I was seeing 155-160. Running empty mine are 145 in the summer and 140 in the winter day in/day out.

I have the Edge, so I get my numbers from the same place that the PCM does.

Mine usually runs 165-175 everyday, without towing. I am also getting my numbers from my edge unit. I would like to know where it reads it from though. It seems like I read on here that our stock trans coolers are thermostaticaly operated. Does anyone know at what temp it kicks in?
