HID install help PLEASE!
HID install help PLEASE!
I have been patiently waiting for my HID kits to arrive, which they now have. So i decide im going to install them today....but im having some problems. Let me first start out by saying i have absolutly no knowledge of wiring or anything electrical AT ALL!
The instructions are poorly written (from china) so im having some trouble.
I have a xenon kit (4300k, H13) and also the fogs (i got 9005). I know i will loose my high beams, not worried. ok...here goes...
I have a relay that connects to the positive and negitive on my battery, which I have already connected. and 2 small single wires (assuming they are ground wires, where can i put these?) 2 more cables coming from the relay that connects to each ballast. SO, i connect the cable to the ballast, and from the ballast, another cable goes to my Xenon bulb. But the bulb has another cable coming from it that i assume connects to my factory plug? If so, it doesnt fit. So i TRIED to splice it.
On my factory plug i have a black wire, a green/black wire, and a orange/green wire. I assume i will only be using 2 of the wires to connect since i will only be using my low beams. I have tried every combination....no light! There are also 2 small ground wires coming from the bulb....where do those go? Do they have to be connected to anything for my kit to work? I NEED HELP...anyone have any knowledge of a single xenon kit...or have any WELL WRITTEN directions on how to hook this up?

well i installed the fogs just fine and didnt have to use the relay. Is this possible for the headlights? I sure am having trouble with these...anyone know how to hook up xenon HID's?
ok, here is the HID bulb with all wiring

here is the ballast

the relay (already hooked up)

and how i have the HID bulb plugged into my factory headlight

now when I done the fogs, no relay was used, theres a few different wiring diagrams...certain bulbs use certain ones....H13 isnt listed. Im assuming that I will use the relay, but not certain. Someone help.......

the last picture....at the bottom by the headlight socket u see 2 wires...by themselves, like pigtails or something...are these grounds? so I splice this into my ground from my factory headlight socket?
by the way...heres a pic of the fogs

Those 2 wire ends are gonna need to be trimmed then plugged into you oem socket. Trial and error which holes to use but it will work. I had that kit and recently upgraded to the hi/low beam setup.

looks like you are missing a cable. Mine are from flashplus on Ebay and there is a cable that splices one headlight control and connects to the battery and those plugs go directly into the other end which have the same type of connection. No splicing they just plugged into each other.

Looks to me like one of those wires can be another ground which youd have to connect to the chassis and one could be the wire in which you slice it into the low beam wire on your stock harness. That would be my guess.
Those stock wires splice into the factory power and ground I believe. They connect to the factory plugs, you have to splice into them and I wouldn't recommend cutting like I did. Use a simple voltage tester (3.99 @ Kragens/Checkers) to find the hot peg on the factory connector with the headlight in the ON position, use the red wire obviously when splicing into the factory harness.
