If it's 4x4 then you can run the 285's no problem. That's most likely what I'm going with next. There is one member here that has 295 Nitto Terra Grapplers and no rubbing, but that's one of only a few tires that are made in that size.
Any bigger than a 295 and you'll definitely need a leveling kit.

Go with the 305/65/18 bfgs. They rub at full lock but it's no big deal...just don't turn as sharp. I don't have a spacer or lift of any kind. I lost about 1-2 mpg. Its all worth it for the look in my opinion.

Where do they rub? The lower A-arm?

Yes, it is on the lower A-arm. Actually it only does it when I'm turning at ABSOLUTE full lock to the right. I dont understand why, but it doesn't do it at full lock to the left. In most cases the rub is avoidable and it has not been a problem for me. Would recommend this setup to anyone.

305x65x18 here. No rubbing at all noticed, have the 2" AS so not sure with stock height. Noticed a definate performance hit over the stock 275x65x18 Wranglers though. Only thing is I wish I had gone with the 325x65x18. I will when I replace the 305's. imo-these tires make truck look great. ride is not bad either when you get used to it, I had mine roadforced.

I am going in your direction with the same truck. The only difference would be the exhaust and decals. Looks great.
