Redline on 5.4?

Does anybody know what the redline on a 2007 5.4 is, my tach has no red shaded area to let me know? At work I drive a 2007 Crown Vic Interceptor, with 4.6, the tack is shaded red at 5600RPMs. Is that the same for the 5.4 engine?......... Not gettin any traffic in the engine forum......

Stock is something like 5200. Its going to be lower than the 4.6 due to the longer stroke. I have mine set to 6k now.

That's the factory PCM software protecting your tranny - the TC does NOT like seeing much more than that.

But that's not the same thing as engine redline, which is much higher - higher still on the 4.6 - just not a lot of power up there anyway in stock trim.

do you think 6k is safe for these engines and tranys?

I think I read somewhere that the torque convertor will only hold up to about 5500. If you search for it you should be able to find the post/thread about it.

the rods are good to ~6000.

the converter is good to ~5500-5700

my rev limiter is 5500. your intake manifold dies above 5200 so there's no point to it.
