Ball joints?
this is in regard to a 97 expy. sorry to post this here, but the 04 forum gets more traffic and i'm more familiar with most of you.
anyhow, i've got a 97 expy 4x4. 3" BL on 35s. i just had a state inspection and was told my upper ball joints are questionable. not bad enough to fail me, but they'll need to be changed at some point. i've also got quite a bit of cupping and wear on the inside of the front tires, which the inspector attributed to the worn BJoints. i know they're basically a bolt on affair, but will it mess with the alignment at all? i had the truck aligned about 6-8 months ago, but you can see a bit of negative camber, though i was told it was in spec. basically, i want to know if i'll have to re-align the truck after swapping the joints out. (i'm sure it's recommended)

Look for play in the lower balljoints (I'm assuming he's talking about lower, as those tend to wear out first). Remove the bolt holding the knuckle to the LCA, I can't recall if they are pressed or screwed in but it should be clear how to remove after that. I'm pretty certain there is no cotter pin to remove.
