I will more than likely upgrade my work truck to a supercrew long bed F150 diesel when these come out. Currently I'm driving a 2003 F150 supercrew shortbed and it's been beat up pretty bad in the arctic. It has nearly 70,000 all gravel road miles in weather ranging from occassional 80 above to 100 below wind chills and 60 below ambient temps. I think a diesel will be much more practical for up here, but a superduty won't fit in my garage, so I need the smaller size of the F150. Diesel fuel is also much less expensive up here, so the difference between gas prices and mileage will hopefully help with the extra sticker cost.

6 grand buys alot of gas... you people need to realize that you will likely never make up your investment

Especially knowing most on here get new trucks every couple years...

Resale value...that 6 grand won't be a complete loss as you'll likely see $4500 + more at resale time. For me though, I typically keep my vehicles longer (my last one was 8.5 years and 136k) and will more than likely save that much in fuel + the added resale.

Oh, and I doubt it will be a 6 grand option. I would think more around 4k.

Same with me, I tend to keep most of my vehicles for a long time. Like my 94 F150 I have had it for 11 years and 110,000 miles and plan on keeping it for a long time to come.

But the biggest reason that I want a diesel is for towing! And a few more MPG wouldn't hurt either.

Yep, the fuel savings alone make the diesel a worthwhile option.

Do you think the dealers will start selling these at MSRP + $10,000 like they are doing with the GT500?

Man hell no... I don't see any problems getting them at invoice or close to it.

The Dealership I was in last week was asking $15,000 over MSRP. Seeing that was good for me because it took away my temptation to buy one.

I caught this article as well this weekend. Has anybody seen any other sources talking about the timing changing to 2010/2011??

Whoever comes out with a half ton diesel FIRST gets my business. I hope to God it's Ford since I love their product but we'll see. If it's Toyota, they still won't get my business.
