need stereo help! anyone who kept the factory HU

for those of you who have installed aftermarket stereo equiment into your f150, but kept the factory HU, how did you wire the HU to a line out converter?

I made a jumper, "T-harness" if you will. Using two different Scosche connectors.
FD23B, and FD23RB. Connected to a PAC OEM-2 LOC. 4 channel converter, maily because of the way I was running my amp.

No, I wish I had slowed down when I was installing. I always take pictures of stuff I do. But I thought I'd be going back in there for something and take them then. Never happened!!!

I'll explain, but give me a few and I'll draw a little layout diagram.
One connector goes into radio, the wires that are speaker level are sent to the LOC. The rest of the wires, (power, steering controls, ground, etc.) went straight to the other connector, which in turn plugs into the factory harness.

Now, thinking about the amplified wires coming back from your amp, those wires I also fed into the connector that's plugged into the dash harness.

Variables will exist, depending on your setup, but idea should be the same.

Give me a few minutes, I'll try to draw something for you.

No cutting of factory harness, no tapping into speaker leads for LOC. Once made, it's all plug and play. I found a nice 9 conductor loom from Monster cable that makes routing and running the amplified speaker leads back to the dash a piece of cake.

Correct, if you running your speaker wire from the amp directly to speakers in the doors, and totally bypassing factory wiring, then yes correct.

Correct because all the wires pass thru that are not being used for the adapter(LOC). Steering controls, speed sensitive, and power delay all work as normal.
