Can you blame them?

Well said.

He didn't say anything about warranty work, lol .. but many mechanics would love to work on a motor of this status.

I wouldn't touch the thing, it is like a time bomb that could go off at any second. And even though you might not change anything, all blame falls back on you.

The moral of the story?

Stop trying to make a truck fast. Even if you put 650hp under the hood of a 5600lb truck, it will still lose to just about any decent sports car. And, what's the point? To have a "one of a kind" vehicle? Big freaking deal. Look what good it did for him.

If you really & I mean REALLY need a fast vehicle, take the $70 & buy a Z06 Vette. Or spend $11k on a GSXR-1000 & humiliate every street legal vehicle sold in the USA.

After all is said & done, after the money is spent, the truck in question is basically worthless. No one in their right mind would buy such a truck used because the have zero way to determine if it hasn't been abused. Its like reading an ad for a 70 Cuda "With ONLY 13000 miles!!!". Yeah, right, 1/4 mile at a time. I said it before several months ago that Rafa was wasting his money & I was right. If I had $70k to drop on a vehicle, there would be a MB CLK500 in my driveway right next to an Aprillia RSV Mille.

Cue the flames...

KC-10 FE out...

+1 on the lost cause, that is why i have a bike and my truck is stock. My rule of thumb lately: is if you have to modify it to suit you, it is a waste of money.

Ask JDM to post it here.

For the asshats now moaning about JDM posting Rafa's invoice. rafa asked him to. Jeeze Louis...so rafa cries he didn't get upgraded fuel lines. Then we see evidence that rafa never paid for said lines. Quick bashers, sweep the fuel line issue under the rug and cry about rafa's address being posted by mistake.

Just curious...how many competing vendors are in the background trying to stir ***** here? Maybe Rafa would care to post up where he is getting his advice/assistance from.

I think if JDM didn't know what they were doing they should have been straight up. If JDM lost money on Rafa's job, that's their fault. If Rafa was the "professional engine builder/designer" I can't see him taking anywhere to get "one off" work done. Obviously I (we) don't know what was said between the two of them. Nevertheless, if someone is going to drop some change like that they are going to expect what they paid, for not to mention quality service. I can see why Rafa stopped talking JDM is just coming back with something. If I was Rafa I would stop all the BS and take it to court. This isn't a small job. If JDM was in the wrong I'm sure the legal system to could be the OFFICIAL determinant.

That's one theory. Another is that he slithered away with his pants around his ankles because Jim's posts proved that he made demonstrably false accusations.

I'm not sure that I would recommend that. There's not enough at issue for superior court, and, based on his posts above, something tells me that JDM would cream Rafa in small claims court (where no lawyers are allowed).

Additionally, Rafa has publicly called JDM and its owner "a gang of thiefs [sic]," "liars," "cheats," "deceptive," "fraudulent," and "dishonorable" -- and that's just the first paragraph. Further, the stated purpose of this thread was to drive business away from JDM. The malice is palpable. Based on Rafa's abilities to prove up his allegations demonstrated in this thread, he would be well advised to stay as far away from the courts as possible.

I don't know who is right or wrong in this situation. I don't really give a flying %$#@ either. I think both sides should be ashamed of themselves for the way in which this was handled. This puts a black eye on everything we do here. This forum is something I look forward to every day when i come home from a long day of babysitting (i own my own business) ,and as a contractor i see childish quarrels everday. I wish threads like this would be deleted or die once people realize it has no place to go.

I have watched this thread grow and admit I was amused at some of the happenings that came from it. I think now we should let it continue its flow down the page and into the abyss that it belongs......

I am mostly a lurker and bit my tongue on this one as long as i could. I wouldn't want to be on either side of this and I think the he said she said stuff has lingering affects.

end rant

In refrence to how both sides have presented themselves here?
