I have a Valentine One, and had it mounted on my '03, with a Sunroof...no Problem.

But on the '07, with the Overhead Console, it seems a little more complicated.

In the previous configuration, I had the unit high (using the visor clip mount), but I had the remote display built into the dash. The remote display blacks-out the main unit, making it invisible, and nobody looks that high for a radar detector-without a cord, so it was a good set-up. No debate-higher is better, I picked up a smokey from two miles away once.

The Valentine One comes with two mounting clips, one with suction cups, the other with a visor clip.

I'm going to try to mount the visor clip to the auto dimming module. That way, I can remove the unit, to put it on my motorcycle. I use the suction cup clip in my wife's car.

Most Likely I will mechanically fasten the visor clip to the Auto Dim Module. I'm pretty sure a small disassembly will show me how to rivet the two together.

How about using the same adhesive that holds the rear view mirror on. It seems good enough to hold those mirrors on during the hot summer and cold winters.

I also thought of gorilla glue, like someone previously mentioned, but I think the glass would break before you got your radar detector back off.

Well I bought the 3m red tape at napa on the way home and decided to use it to hold an aluminum cover to the switch pod I made for the switches I'm putting in the ash tray (I have a center console). The switches are powering my boosted HID ballasts.

I was initally dead set on using the 3M red tape, which I'm now sure will work.

HOWEVER, SuperSlabCab gave me this thought and I thank him for it. I'm now leaning back towards dexter's idea of screws and nuts.

This is my reasoning. The girlfriend and I always take the truck because it is a smoother ride then her current car. However, she's going to buy an 07 Nissan Altima sedan next month and we'll use that in the summer when going places and then up to the cabin during the summer. Then using the truck for trips in the winter and trips to the cabin in the winter.

This V1 has proven to be very useful on the long trips up the north shore where the state troopers seem to love to radar you from long distances away, along the straight road.

Using the screws and nuts with the visor clip would allow me to put it in the truck, hard wired for normal use. Then use the suction cups in her car with the lighter power for the times we're using her car.

Granted it won't be nice to have the lighter wire running up the mirror. But I really don't see a need to hard wire it for her car or buy her one.

I'm going out to see how the screw and nut idea would look.

Duke

PS. PHS79, I'm sending you a PM.
