Exhaust Time

Help me pick an exhaust. I dont want anything loud or to drone. I want it as quiet as stock but the power gains of a performance exhaust. Also is there any performance grains from going single in two out over single in single out? I want a single in and single out exiting behind rear wheel with like a 5 inch tip, unless you get more out of a dual out system. Also I was thinking like 3.5 in and 3.5 out does that sound right? What muffler like a flowmaster 50 or maybe there new 40 quiet one? Let me know

There is no HP gain simply by going from a single to dual setup. 3.5 in and out is probably overkill for your truck. Also the y pipe is about 2.5 inches od. Check out troyer performance's webpage. They are a sponser here and mention good exhaust setups to buy.

I looked on his page Im not paying 495 for a single in and single out, this shop in town did my buddys f1 flowmaster 40 SIDO with dual stainless tips for 375. What muffler should I get as well as what size pipe and is a 5 inch tip to big, now that I know SIDO doesnt do anything.

do yourself a favor and go with dynomax bullets. Don't waste your money on that flowmaster crap.

Banks Monster exhaust. It is a 3.0 in / 3.0 out SISO exiting behind the rear wheel with a 5 inch tip. Enough said.

If you're even out in southern California, I have 2 exhausts that you can have. One is a Gibson si/si cat-back, and the other is a Magnaflow that welded onto stock piping...

nope man im here in phoenix AZ. Why did you take them off and which one did you like better? I have been doing some more reading and I am reading that the larger the piping the more low end tq you lose. I am really thinking of just a replacement muffler and new pipe and tip after the muffler. What should I get then magnaflow, flowmaster 40, 50, dynomax?

Here is what I did and I am very happy with it. I had the exhaust cut just after the Y-pipe, then had 3" ran into my IMCO Pro (now called Cherry Bomb Pro) and then had 3" bent up and ran out the stock location. I ran the truck like that for about a year, then this April I welded a 4"diaX12"long Magnaflow tip on (polished stainless). I really like my set-up alot, not drone at all. It doesn't matter if I am running 80 down the interstate or pulling heavy trailer in the hills. I simply have never had any drone. And while cruising down the hwy the truck is as quite as it was stock. But if I get on the throttle it will turn heads, I have been told that it gives my truck that old muscle car sound.

I got a Flo Pro installed a week or so and LOVE it. It is very quiet but has a nice rumble to it.

I would recommend it since you want something quiet.

Roush Exhaust!

I just installed a ROUSH DUAL EXHAUST & absolutely love it! No drone at highway rpm's! More top end power I feel on highway! Made by BORLA, 100% stainless steel! Plus it looks beautiful, with the ROUSH TIPS! .........

Extreme keep your eyes open for my truck in Chandler. I did a 3" out of the Y pipe into a Magnaflow 18" muffler SI/SO. If you see me go ahead and flag me down if you want to check it out.
