There are different auctions on ebay. Some of the fender flares that are being sold are aftermarket types that stick on with 3M tape. The ones most of us bought, and are talking about were taken off of lariat and king ranch F150's and are the factory flares. The auction should identify which one they are.

I can't remember exactly, but I think I paid around $150 for mine and it cost about $500 to have them painted, along with my mirrors, roush chin spoiler and the grille insert. The dealership charged me $30 to take the old ones off and install them. They are easy enough to install on your own, but I didn't want to mess with it, and the truck was already at the dealership getting the new gears installed, so I told them to go ahead and do it.

How did painting your mirrors go? I tried to get a quote from a body shop on painting my FX4 grille and fender flares which are both the same texture as the mirrors and the guy said that it would be pointless because any bug buildup or being in the sun for too long would chip the paint...

I think I paid $180 for my Lariat flares off of ebay, but mine were black already, so I just re-cleared them and slapped them on.

Btw, the only reason the plastic mirrors and grill would chip easily after painting is because of poor preparation. You must use adhesion promoter to get it to bond well.

Well for that price I like mine just the way they are. I would never spend that much on such a little addition.

Heres the scoop. I bought mine off of ebay by the seller "partzway" for $120. He now sells them for $130. Still a good deal and they are the factory Lariat fender flares. Mine were black and i had them painted true blue. He ships fast and packs them good. I also bought the PTM handles .More pics in my gallery

Anyone have a real world quote of what it would be to have them sanded and painted?
