My last Dealer Oil Change....WOW

It doesn't really matter how big the opening where the oil drains out is... it's the size of the channel through the threads that's the bottleneck.
For those wondering about the Fumoto valve opening while installed I highly doubt it could happen. You need to push up on a lever and turn it to open the valve. This isn't even easily done by hand once it's one the vehicle.
While I've never heard a bad thing about the Fram Sure Drain, I have a personal dislike for Fram products so the Fumoto goes on all my vehicles.
The drain hole is smaller than the oil pan plug opening but it's nothing major, it doesn't take but a minute more to get the oil drained. Get an N type with the nipple. This will allow you to pop a tiny hose onto the valve and into an empty bottle for easy recycling. No more drain pans and emptying drain pans into bottles for me. Also a good idea is placing a vacuum cap over the nipple to keep any crud from building up on there.

I put 5w-30 in summer months and 5w-20 in for winter months.
After the local Chrysler dealer stripped out the oil pan on my wife's Grand Cherokee (about 1999), I put Fumoto's on all my vehicles. Never had one open up or break off while 4-wheeling. If you're worried about it opening up, you can put a c-clip on it to hold the lever down (the directions for installing the valve tell you what kind of clip to get). I typically put a bit of red or black RTV on the threads when I install them. On the down side. I have had idiots at oil change outfits remove the entire valve instead of just opening it.

its a big deal because manufactures are gettting so **** about maintenance records in order to perform warranty work and 5w20 is what FORD recomends youd think a FORD service dept would get it right

I think I'll just stick with the conventional drain plug supplied with the truck. It may save you a lil bit of time using one of these quick release valves but you have to remove the filter as well which also creates a mess so you must use a drain pan to catch the drippings regardless of if you don't use the drain pan to drain the oil. Any way you shake it, you're still emptying oil out of a drain pan so why not just remove the regular plug and let it drain normally.
Slightly off topic but I found a wrench in my engine bay ontop of the air filter after getting my oil changed at the dealership one time. I had no reason to open my hood so I had driven for about 2000km with it in there until I went to install my e-fans.
