HD dash parts.

has anyone seen these for sale anywhere? i think the piano black looks sick and was wondering if you have to get them from ford or not. i guess you could paint your dash to match, but i don't feel like taking it apart and having it a wreck while it's getting painted.

That's pretty expensive, but could be true.

Those gloss black pieces in the HD trucks appear to be separate pieces, but it's all one big piece that the rest of the plastic trim attaches to. Other than the steel beam inside the IP, that big piece of plastic is the structure of the IP; it's kind of like an exoskeleton.

Surely it would be cheaper to strip down your own IP and have that piece painted.

they could show up in a salvage yard but about 8k made thats between 150 and 170 per state. trucks are about 40k not too great a chance on a truck that new, that expensive, to get salvaged and the dash survive too well with airbags usually blowing a big part of the dash open. hope for a flood or rearended one.

but someone has got to win the lotto.

i would go for painting it

yeah painting sounds like a better option. a few Q's...what's IP?

and is painting it a DIY thing, or should it be professionally sprayed?

An IP is instrument panel or dash, painting could be a DIY project if your willing to tackle the job.

Probably the easiest and most cost effective way would be to find any intact F-150 dash in a boneyard and have it painted whatever color you want then just swap it into your truck.

i take IP to mean indiviual parts...and if you can get them apart professional would be best...dont know how well a knocker can of krylon will hold up to interior heat and nice fine finish like a pro job will...should be easy less than 200 but 100 more like it with you pulling the parts and taking them to the painter

Sorry... IP = Instrument Panel and I would have it professionally done.

I've wanted to do this myself, I have several photos on my desktop including photoshopped pics of my interior. It looks pretty good, but factory looks better with the wood grain. Let me know if it's worth posting, it's just a mockup mind you.

Well i own the Harley and let me tell you that nice piano black finish scratches if you look at it the wong way. In fact my dealership had to replace my lower console and gear shift parts due to there detailing guy dragging the vacuum hose over it! As far as installing my stereo stuff, i told the installers they better tape off the dash just in case they had an accident! If you are going to repaint yours, make sure you put on alot of clearcoat.

We did a custom build, startign with a Roush Stage III ( pre production) and modified it with a Harley high gloss interior, some of our own high gloss black parts, and a custom high gloss new designed railport overhead system.

I have an extra Harley Insturment Panel , but you can't have it. I need it for my truck

True

I want a flow through console, just not sure I want to chop up the truck to make the thing work.
