19 MPG - City

The last two tanks of gas I have put in have averaged 19 mpg in moderate city driving. I admit I have been taking it easy, almost always staying below 2k rpm's. I have also been using 87 octane Shell gas which seems to get the best mileage for me. Just goes to show that you can get decent mileage from these beast.

How in the world are you guys getting 19/20 mpg in the city?

It doesn't matter if I keep it under 2k or not, I can't get better then 14/15 in the city.

What, does your city have no stop lights and no hills?

Mine is getting 16+ in town at the moment. I'm plenty pleased with that...

That's excellent. I usually average about 14.5 - 15 is very rare for me in the city. 3.73 gears here, and maybe my elevation has something to do with it. I don't drive it like I stole it either.

2 words... manual transmission. You can force the shift points. Cruise at 45 miles per hour at under 1000 RPM

We have many hills, and stop lights. A lot of traffic from Ft.Campbell also. Quality gas and not being the first off the line at the red lights really helped me, also anticipating where you're going to slow down or stop at.

I average 15.8-16 mixed driving. Even right after a fill up the best I've gotten on the highway going 65-70 is 17.6mpg. So far it's getting just what I expected. The winter kills my mileage though.

My truck seems to run fine, but after seeing all these numbers I think there's something wrong with it. I only get about 11 city and 13.5 highway according to my message center.

I managed 20.7 mpg on a 180 mile trip yesterday. I was pretty happy about that...it was mostly all highway though, 67-68 mph.

In the city I just have to much of a lead foot...13-14 mpg.

BTW, Thumper....I love the new sig ....er, at least the right part of it
