so my Tinting place has ripped me off according to you guys. They charged me $10 dollars to remove the tint off of the front windows before they would tint them. I went by today and kinda asked, they said "no trucks come with factory tint, it must have been aftermarket if there was any tint at all."

My question: what is the factory tint on 2004 Screw FX4 front windows. and where is it documented so I can prove it?

 

There is none whatsoever on the front door windows. But I have no documentation to prove it. They don't do it from the factory as some states require no tinting on those windows, some fuel for the fire.

You bought used I assume? If there was tint there, it was aftermarket. But I don't see $10 being that big of a deal. It's time the installer had to put in to do it right.

 

hmmm.. I guess it was after market after-all then. It was very light-tint, almost not noticeable. but the tint was there on the fronts for sure. I thought it was factory like that.

 

ehh 10 bucks, you might of had aftermarket tint tho, was the shop clean and run by professionals or was is some run down dirt shack at the flea market full of "illegal immagrants" trust me tho 10 bucks is CHEAP to remove tint, removing the stuff can be more labor intensive and time consuming than installing it

 

umm.. guys with lots of Tattoo's and bad hair-cuts.... but as far as tint shops go thats classy right? It's not the $10 bucks, its the principle!

hell yea. The tint came out perfect. With a life-time warranty.

soooo.. are we sure there is no factory front tint? not even a little?

 

Positive, none in the front side glass and windshield. Only in the back three windows is there tint, and that is integral to the glass itself. Only way to remove that is to replace the glass.

 

There is no tint on my 2004.

 

Guess I was wrong.

 

Ive never seen or even heard of any car coming with factory tints in the front. Not that im saying there are none, but if someone finds one than by all means post it up here. The only new cars that will probably come with front tints are maybe the custom ones they send out from the dealership to have aftermarket parts put on.

I had mine tinted and they just put the stuff over it??

 

factory tint is in the glass not on it. it cant be removed.

probably dealer installed aftemarket, just like my buddies STX that came brand new 0 miles off the lot with a roush scoop
