My buddy is trading in his 04 F150 with a 4.6 for a 07 F150 with a 5.4. He wants to keep his edge evolution and put it in the 07. Will it work from his 04 to the 07 he is looking at?

 

It should. I know people that have had issues running them on the '06 4.6, but I think that was specific to the 4.6. I moved mine from an '04 5.4 to an '06 5.4.

 

He hasnt had any problems with it on the 4.6. Just want to make sure he wouldnt have any problems going from a 4.6 to 5.4.

I would call Edge just to make sure!

 

He should have no problem as long as the PCM stratagy is supported by his Edge. At the very least, he will need to update his Edge with the new software updates which will contain stratagies supported. The problem he may run into is that Edge has been slow in writing the code for new stratagies as Ford has introduced them. Hopefully, his will be supported, but a call to Edge should verify yes or no.

 

I think he has to call edge to the the unit reset to use in his new truck.
