Bolt Size

Look at this video and see how big our bolts are. Is this true?

No, it's a clever lie meant to make you love your F-150 even more.

Of course it's true!

It was a rhetorical question. They don't believe it on the T forum.

Holy crap! I would be so embarassed if my bolt was that small!

That really is pathetic. When I first saw how ugly the new Tundra is, I though "What it lacks in looks, it must really make up for in power and strength". I guess that just isn't true.

I love when Mr Hosik laughs and says "So small". I have a buddy that has that as his email notification. Every time he gets an email, his computer says "So small".

I really wouldn't put much into the bolt comparisons. I own a spring shop and have never seen an end bolt break no matter the size. Typical sizes are between 1/2 - 5/8 for about all 1/2 - 1 ton trucks and for whatever reason the F150 put in about a 11/16 bolt (actually metric). It's bigger but the smaller ones aren't going to break. I haven't had a Tundra in here yet but I wouldn't be surprised if the bolt they took is from the shackle end. If you compare your front bolt to rear shackle bolt you'll notice a big size difference. It's actually better to have a smaller bolt with more rubber in the bushing to absorb impact. I've seen about everything imaginable from axles completely ripped out or hangers torn off but every time the spring or u bolts broke and never the end bolts.

No. That would be only YOURS that does that. As you can see, my posting only mentions the F-150!
