very bad luck

well, it has happened again....

some of you may remember a thread i started a few weeks ago...wrecked FX2 https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=286187

well i have gotten my truck back...everything was perfect...until I hit some old ladys car yesterday.
Traffic was moving slow along I-10 (about 10 MPH) and I was moving to my exit lane, she decides she is going to also...so i bumped her rear end. Not too much damage on her old POS (bumper dent and taillight) but my truck is messed up again. Ill get pics up later today, but the damage is almost the same as the last wreck...except the hood, windshield and weatherstripping...

just the fender, upper valance, and FX2 bumper, and one FX2 headlight.
All on the oppisite side as before. After this happened, the lady and her granddaughter i assume (maybe 22-24 years of age) were not to worried about calling DPS or city cop. We exchanged info and left. My question is what is the best way I can go about this? Her vehicle needs fixed, so does mine. Yes, technically it was my fault. Could I just pay for hers outright, and fill comp on mine saying i hit a deer or something? My insurance is already sky high, and I am trying to keep it from going up. Or should I just pay the $500, get both vehicles fixed and be done with it. This is a very stressfull time....any suggestions? All this is putting a severe hold on my modding!

If it were me, I'd have gotten the 22 year old grandaughters phone number..........haha.....Seriously dude, that sucks. I would have been so pissed. See how much the damages will be and go from there I guess.

i think there are forces of nature beyond the scope of our understanding that have cursed you and you might not be meant to have a truck. hahaha.....

Seriously though, I know how you feel. I've had that same scenario before, the just getting something back from being fixed up part, except with a car. Made me so mad.

Well since there was no report done and you both left the scene of an accident; at this point you can either offer to pay for her damages outright or go through your insurance. If she doesnt care about her insurance going up ask her to go through her insurance and just pay for her deductible so her insurance can do what they want to the vehicle. As for you it all just depends on your financial situation to pay for the damages instead of the deductible. I think the one headlight alone is like $250.00 so thats already half of the deductible and dont even think of the labor costs.

Get your parts from car-parts.com. You can pick up the headlight for less than 50 shipped on there, not counting whatever else you need. Many parts are used but some are takeoffs.

Someone on here gave me sound advice after several of my truck problems it went something like, "Do yourself a favor and stay at home for a day". :P

Wow, that is bad luck...or bad driving! Good luck with the repairs and try to keep the insurance company from finding out.

I wouldn't lie to the insurance company. Any adjuster would be able to tell the difference between damage caused by a deer and damage caused by a collision. Plus, some time in the future if the lady does mention it to hers or your insurance company, you'd have some explaining to do.......

Do not committ any kind of Insurance Fraud, or you will be in more hot water than you already are with your Insurance Co., you will probably have to file a Police Report, before either insurance Co., will do anything anyway.....

Sounds like you fix your's and they fix their's. Without a police report, it's a civil suit now and the police is out of the picture. Good Luck
