Finally got it on the rollers...

And am very happy with the results. The tune that came with the magnacharger was very rich on my truck and has always seemed down on power. Went up to Justin at VMP and he did his thing and its a night and day difference. Heres the graph: http://vmptuning.com/dynographs/janf150.jpg

Numbers are a litte lower than I expected but the IAT's were hovering around 135 degrees and werent coming down so he wasnt able to push it as far as he wanted. DA was about 1900 ft. Mods are magnacharger w/ 2.8 pulley, Pacesetter LT's w/ hi flows, 4.10's. The wheels im sure didnt help at 103 lbs per wheel/tire but o well-there stayin. Went 14.6 @ 94 before so im hoping to break 13's now and ill be going to the track as soon as the rain quits around here. I need to look into the IAT situation whether it be faulty sensor or just inefficient cooling but I will be logging it with the excal and hopefully come up with something.

Also met Thump up there since he lives right around the corner and his truck is simply badass in person!

I was waiting for this thread. LOL Nice to get to put a face to the name. I have to say the same thing about your truck bro, exactly what I'd do for a street truck. How much longer did you end up staying up there after I left? Too bad you couldn't put down numbers like that Cobra!

Drives just like stock except I might go through tires a little quicker

Thump- that cobra was insane for stock motor-670 rwhp! I got back on the road about 5:30 and didnt even know about this damn tropical storm-needless to say it took about 4 hrs to get home.

Any magnacharger guys wanna jump in on this one-can you explain the 6psi up to about 4800 and then the sudden spike to 8.3? This is with a 2.8 pulley so it should be seeing 8 psi much sooner. Any thoughts?

I had a Maggie on my GTO and had a similar problem until I put a new belt on.

I was running a 2.8" pulley as well....the stock pulley was 2.9". You may have a little belt slippage.

Is the 2.8" pulley standard on yours or did you swap it out as well? If you swapped it out, I'd recommend a new Gatorback belt maybe.

Gotta agree, when I had my Eaton ported on my HD truck I would experience the same. Went through a couple of different belts then finally buckled down and bought a Metco idler pulley tensioner.
Kind of like this one....

You could always go with a cogged upper and lower pulley set up as well.

Later...

thanks to both of you guys-I figured by looking at my dyno graph that I didnt have any slippage since the boost was kind of linear with no real spikes. If you guys havent looked at it I posted a link to it in the first post. See what you think from that. I was going to buy a couple backup belts this week anyways-what brand do you guys recommend-theres a Gates on there now. btw it came with a 3.0" pulley and I swapped to the 2.8. thanks guys

edit: black2000 no can do on the cog drive since I dont have a dedicated blower drive-just one serpentine.

Please elaborate, I am not familiar with the Magnacharger. I do know that the blower drive is mounted in the side and I assume is belted to a lower pulley. If so I do not see how you could not get the lower cogged and the drive pulley cogged as well. I know they have them for the KB's and the Whipple's now.
