definately not worth the $100k, but these things ^^^ sure do put it a notch above the rest. i wouldnt mind having access to their cmputer tune so i can get a lightning tranny to work in my truck...

I think it's the Baer brakes that add so much to the cost. You see how much they want for those suckers?

Am I the only one not that impressed? I mean other than the body mods anyone can really duplicate this truck for less than half the price. Dont get me wrong I think its nice but things like a stock motor with roush blower just dont seem like they fit. Ford GT motor with twin screw anyone? Hell maybe Ill build one and sign my name on it------( think anyone would give a crap about a Jan Burdziejko edition? Might sell in Poland

Also why do they put a 4R100 in a truck thats putting down probably less than 400rwhp?

because the 4r75 has a hard time handling s/c motors. you may be lucky and your tranny will last, but if i had the 4r100 from the factory, i probably wouldnt have had the $2,100 transmission repair bill i had a few months ago...

but ib will agree, most of the other stuff on this truck would be considered bolt ons and dont justify the 100k price...

I agree with you that our trannys werent intended to be behind a SC but they can and will last with the correct tune with power levels around 400. Seems like they just did it because they could and they needed something to set the truck off from everyones on here

I've seen nicer trucks on this forum and I know they've spent less money.

the truck would look better IMO without that blue though. I can't believe someone paid $100k for a Lariat with a Supercharger installed.

I am sure that who ever bought it wont miss the $100K...its all matter of perspective.

Anybody saying they could build the truck for much less is absolutely right...but it wouldn't carry the Shelby name. If you can't understand that then I am not going to even try to explain it to you because you just wont get it. Carrol Shelby is to American cars what Enzo Ferrari is to Italian cars. Collectors of those kind of cars have money and are fantics.

Couldn't anyone be able to find a local perfomance shop (or do it themselves if able) to do the same mods to a, let's say $35K stock Lariat, for maybe 18K if do it yourself, say 30K if you have to pay for labor? I'll discount the weird paint job, it's shiny, but I'd go with a more subdued scheme.
It basically sounds like a Lightning - a bit more I guess - with pimped paint and Mr. Shelby's name on it?

For 100K I'd rather have an M6.

Granted, the Carrol Shelby name alone on any Ford is worth something, the man is THE legend! but $40,000 or so? Is this truck a one off?

Ram couldnt of said it better. These people buying the truck for 105K have cars, plenty of them and probably more expensive then what the truck even sold for. Sure you can do it for about half the price, but its not one of a kind, nor inspired or made by Carrol Shelby. Not much different then people buying one of Chip Foose's one of a kind cars. If anything in comparing to Chip Foose, compared to as many one of a kinds Chip sells and makes versus Carrol Shelby, Shelbys truck should have sold for more.

yeah but with all of the other supercharged dealer offered trucks out there, i think shelby could have done more with custom parts and more unique styling. throwing on a roush s/c and making a few body fascia pieces, in my opinion, falls short of a real shelby product... im not knocking it, i mean its a better truck than mine, but i think 100k is insane. i think a new shelby gt500 is a better quality product and costs much less...

It's a mass produced vehicle vs a one off vehicle, which one do you think is going to be worth more in the long run?

Well thats your opinion, but its much more of a REAL Shelby product than any of the GT500s are. The buildings in the background of the truck are Shelby's Las Vegas shop....meaning the truck was made there at Shelby. The GT500s are all mass produced by Ford and never set foot at Shelby...so I guess you could say that THEY are not really Shelbys because CS never turned a wrench on them.

Well the truck sold at AUCTION...no one set the $100K price for it except the buyer so the point about it being overpriced is mute IMO.

Well it doesnt just have Shelby's name on it...his shop desgned and built it. Its a true one of a kind Shelby.

As much as I like these trucks, there's no way on God's Green Earth I'd spend ANYTHING resembling $100K on a Ford.... or any other truck make, for that matter.

That said, it is a very nice truck though.

Wow a race car truck! I guess I don't get it. Its too heavy to be anything, you can do a burnout with it and race it in a straight line.
