Thumper, your truck is sick!

Where'd you get the grille & surround? I could definitely live with the Lariat if my front end looked like that.

It's just the FX2 grille, you can order it through the dealer and have them paint it as well. Its supposed to be a grey for the center piece but I just had them paint it black as well. Thanks for the compliments though!

It's too bad that Ford no longer makes the Lariat/FX4 combo like my '03 was! I loved that truck. Too bad I had to sell it because of $$ shortage at the time

Take a look through a brochure.

Who gives a rats a$$ what your brochure or your window sticker says, it's gray, and a good amount of it, just look at the photos in your brochure...

I say get the one you like the look of the best and go from there. The majority of the options are available on them both so pick the one you like and option it out accordingly. I've got a Lariat and am very happy with it. True the wood grain looks a little stupid, but I like the instrument cluster a lot better than on the fx4. I also really like the auto climate controls.

Uhg...Look buttercup,
obviously you have an issue reading what others write….. there are only TWO, (pronounced like “to”) interior colors for a Lariat. BLACK (rhymes with sack), and TAN (rhymes with “man”). Got it????

Every single F150 interior has grey accents in it. Now, settle down and go watch some Thundercats.

A G N T S A...

I like the color schemes on FX4s better than Lariats personally. I don't want/need four wheel drive though, which is why I'm pretty sure my next truck is gonna be an FX2.

You can outfit an FX4 now very similarly to a Lariat with the "Luxury Package." The only thing you won't get is the trip computer.

Buy whichever one you like, you'll still be getting a helluva truck either way.

my FX4 Lux was $3k less than the same equipped Lariat and as Quintin mentioned, I don't have the Trip Computer, but I've got everything else. I hope there is a scarcity of the FX4's when I sell my truck. That would be nice.

btw, the auto climate thing is amazing...I'm in love with it, and I'll never own another vehicle without it. press Auto, set your temp and your done

if you get the Lariat, make sure it has the 3.73 LS rear-end. You will be sorry if you don't.

otherwise, OEM skid plates are over-rated and the FX4 shocks aren't much better than the normal 4x4 shocks. it's a truck and you shouldn't expect a perfectly smooth ride or be carving up corners

I have always been a fan of the FX4's. They just look more like a truck to me. Sure, you can make a Lariat look like an FX4...but why not just buy an FX4? Once I get my ARB Sahara bumper in black, black Bushwacker pocket-style fender flares, and have the rear bumper painted black, my truck will be perfect for me. I never did like chrome on a truck, except for the wheels. Lariats are for chromosexuals!
