Friend's Brand New FX2 Broken Into
I think they busted his key cylinder.
Nice restaurant during it's lunch rush in a nice part of San Antonio. Stole his stereo and left his Cordless Passport 8500(whatever) on th dash  Anyways, what can we possibly do to strengthen the handles and cylinders, and when will Ford admit to the lack of security that their handles present and provide us with a solution! |
Jimmi Jammer reinforcement plate to block access to the door internals.
http://www.jimmijammer.com/JJ%20desc...0and%20450.htm Not much can be done with the cylinder itself other than to remove it completely and rely on remote keyless entry. |
Where did it happen?
|
Sorry but this isn't any different than a lot of vehicles on the road today. If a theif wants it, it's his with some effort regardless of what security measures you do have in place. . :coffee:

Must be a thing with Texas restaurants. I remember hearing about this happening a couple times before.

Take the keyholes away, and they'll just start breaking windows next. If a crook wants in your ride, they'll get in at any and all costs regardless of what vehicle it is. |
Regardless, thieves will try the method that creates the least amount of suspicion, hence breaking into the lock or prying the handle bucket, where lock or handle bucket protection would still be a good break-in deterrent.
